By investing in social protection for care workers and care policies that reduce and redistribute care work, States liberate women’s time, enable their educational attainment and labor force participation, as well as contribute to their physical and mental health. This side-event will explore existing challenges for a just care economy in the region and will explore emerging opportunities to promote a progressive care agenda based on the principles of human rights and sustainable development
