Hope Inspired Foundation for Women and Youths with Disabilities (HIFWYD) works to advance inclusive development across Africa, with a strong focus on the care agenda and, in particular, the recognition, reduction, and redistribution of unpaid care work. A key part of its mission is to promote the meaningful inclusion of women and young people with disabilities in care systems, policies, and decision-making spaces across the continent.
HIFWYD is currently implementing a project to promote disability-inclusive care in higher education institutions in Nigeria, while also building a pan-African community of practice that brings disability inclusion into broader conversations on the care economy. Through advocacy, capacity building, and strategic partnerships, the organization works to strengthen more equitable care systems, improve social protection, and ensure that the voices of persons with disabilities are heard in care-related discussions.
The foundation engages with stakeholders across several African countries to support sustainable, inclusive, and transformative care solutions that leave no one behind.
