The Government of the State of Aguascalientes is implementing a cross-cutting social policy aimed at establishing shared responsibility for caregiving and domestic work. Through local constitutional reforms and the regulatory design of a State Care System, the administration coordinates institutional efforts with a gender and intersectionality perspective. This government strategy seeks to guarantee the human right to provide and receive care under dignified conditions, by coordinating the work of agencies such as the State DIF and the Aguascalientes Institute for Women. In this way, the state focuses its public programs on raising awareness of and redistributing the burden of unpaid care work, expanding the infrastructure of daycare centers and day care facilities to mitigate the socioeconomic inequality gaps that primarily affect women’s time in the state.
