Gender Equality and Inclusion Unit (UIGI)
The Gender Equality and Inclusion Unit (UIGI) is an institutional division dedicated to ensuring spaces that are equitable, safe, and free from discrimination. It addresses the issue of care work by recognizing it as a right and an essential task for sustaining daily life. Its approach to caregiving involves raising awareness of and reducing the burden of domestic and caregiving work that has historically fallen on women, by creating support networks, conducting assessments, and developing tools that promote collective shared responsibility so that caregiving tasks do not hinder the development, autonomy, or growth of caregivers.
