The Procomum Institute works to strengthen communities and collaborative networks and to promote new forms of social organization based on the commons, cooperation, and care. Care is one of its guiding principles and a cross-cutting theme in its work.
Through LA Cuida, the Latin American Laboratory on the Economics of Care, it fosters citizen-led innovation processes that seek to develop and prototype community-based and systemic solutions to the challenges of care in Latin America. The project has supported initiatives in Colombia and Uruguay through workshops, funding, and strategic guidance.
Its approach views care as a political act and a tool for strengthening solidarity, cooperation, and community life, incorporating ancestral knowledge, community practices, and feminist and decolonial perspectives.
