Latin American Network for Independent Living Association (RELAVIN)
RELAVIN is a regional network that brings together organizations of people with disabilities in 14 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean (primarily independent living centers). Member organizations provide services aimed at promoting independent living and community inclusion: personal assistance, peer support, deinstitutionalization programs, training for personal assistants, support in exercising rights, and coordination with national care and social protection systems. Based on the CRPD and Advisory Opinion OC-31/25 of the Inter-American Court, we view these services as supports for autonomy, not as welfare-based care.
