The Care Pavilion will run from 26 April to 1 May 2026, alongside the Women Deliver Conference, which will take place from 27 to 30 April at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Located at the Multicultural Hub in central Melbourne, the Pavilion is designed as an open, city-based space, fostering exchange among global stakeholders while connecting with local communities before, during, and after the official conference programme.

The initiative is convened by the Global Alliance for Care, supported by the City of Melbourne, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and Fondation Chanel, in collaboration with CHANGE, Equimundo and Women Deliver.

The Care Pavilion will serve as a strategic and innovative platform to advance care as central to a transformative vision for just and sustainable societies, linking feminist advocacy with local realities. It is part of the Alliance’s broader efforts to influence multilateral spaces and promote public policies grounded in the 5Rs framework—recognizing, reducing, redistributing, rewarding, and representing care work.

Building on experiences in Seville (FfD4), Mexico City (Regional Conference on Women), and Belém (COP30), the Care Pavilion at Women Deliver 2026 will further consolidate this model as an open, accessible, and city-rooted space. It will welcome conference participants as well as local civil society organizations, feminist movements, community groups, and the general public.

The GAC Care Pavilion programme will feature panels, workshops, exhibitions, cultural activities, and multistakeholder dialogues, selected through an open call to the Alliance’s over 340 member organizations.

About Women Deliver 2026

The Women Deliver 2026 Conference, held from 27 to 30 April at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, is one of the world’s leading global gatherings for gender equality and feminist advocacy. Convened every three years, this edition marks the first time the conference is hosted by a region—the Pacific—bringing together governments, civil society, youth leaders, the private sector, and international organizations.

Women Deliver is a member of the Global Alliance for Care, contributing to collective efforts to advance care as a central pillar of gender equality and sustainable development.

More than a space for dialogue, Women Deliver serves as a platform for concrete political, financial, and programmatic commitments to advance gender equality across key areas such as health, education, sexual and reproductive rights, and economic justice. A central outcome of the conference will be the Feminist Playbook, a strategic roadmap for the international development sector that outlines a shared vision, actionable commitments, and a collective path forward for advancing gender equality globally. The Global Alliance for Care has actively contributed to its development and will work to ensure that care remains a central pillar within this agenda.

In addition to the Care Pavilion, the Global Alliance for Care will play an active role across the conference. The Alliance will contribute to high-level discussions on economic justice through its participation in the Women Deliver Economic Justice and Rights Working Group, including a session on advancing global policy coordination, where care will be highlighted as a key case study.
