The contexts and experiences in the implementation of care policies in Latin America are diverse; however, a comparative analysis makes it possible to identify social practices and cultural patterns that permeate and sustain the sexual division of labor. In this note we propose a comparative analysis of the experience of Colombia and Peru in the development and implementation of care policies taking into account the following theoretical concepts: a. the inclusion of the gender perspective to break the gaps (Aguirre, 2014), b. the definition of care as a right (Pautassi, 2018) and c. the application of the principle of universality (Martínez, 2018).
