Migrant workers form a critical component of care workforces around the world, and their role is expected to increase. This brief provides an overview of transformations shaping the growing demand for care workers, the labour migration governance and protection challenges, and provides recommendations for policy actions to ensure States can protect migrant care workers’ rights and meet present and future care needs in both countries of origin and destination.
