The objective of this study is to gather various experiences and governmental practices, particularly in Latin America and other parts of the world that are considered relevant, on specific actions, projects, programs or State policies that have sought to encourage the formalization of domestic work.

The aim is to highlight the complexities and challenges involved in a formalization process in this labor sector, to provide public policymakers with tools that will enable them to be effective in their efforts to comply with ILO Convention 189.
