La Cuidadora

La Cuidadora
Spanish

*La Cuidadora* is a documentary that gives a face and a voice to a reality that is so often overlooked: that of migrant domestic and care workers in rural areas. Through their stories, the film offers a glimpse into their living conditions, the barriers they face, and, above all, their collective strength. Far from portraying them solely through the lens of precariousness, the documentary reveals their struggle, their organization, and the activism they drive through the associations they themselves have created to defend their labor rights and dignity.

Directed by Lucía Muñoz Lucena (Entre Fronteras Producciones) for ActionAid, La Cuidadora is part of the VECINAS project, an initiative committed to building a more diverse and inclusive Andalusia, where rural migrant women are recognized as neighbors with full rights. From an intersectional and human rights perspective, the documentary invites us to confront a reality close to home, to question normalized inequalities, and to recognize the essential role of those who sustain life and provide care. Watching it is an opportunity to listen, understand, and join a necessary transformation.

With the support of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
