In January 2020, an Oxfam report revealed that womenand girls, especially those living in poverty and marginal-ized groups, spend 12.5 billion hours performing unpaidcare work worldwide every day. According to estimates bythis organization, the monetary value of unpaid care workglobally carried out by women is $10.8 trillion annually (Coffey et.al., 2020). The document adds, “This figure,while huge, is an underestimate, and the true figure is farhigher.
