The Global Alliance for Care at the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2)
This collective agenda brings together the care-related initiatives and events led by members of the Alliance at the Second World Summit for Social Development to highlight the vital role of care in advancing sustainable development.
The Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) will take place in Doha, Qatar, from November 4 to 6, 2025 — thirty years after the historic 1995 Copenhagen Summit. Convened by the United Nations General Assembly, this summit aims to renew the global commitment to the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and its Programme of Action, and provide renewed momentum for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. It represents a unique opportunity to advance the Alliance’s transformative vision.
Identified as one of the key advocacy spaces by the Alliance’s membership in its Strategic Priorities 2025–2030, WSSD2 is a key platform for governments, international organizations, civil society, and other stakeholders to define joint strategies that promote well-being and social justice worldwide.
