ECOSOC adopts resolution on care and support systems for social development
The Global Alliance for Care welcomes the resolution “Promoting care and support systems for social development” (document E/CN.5/2024/L.5) adopted by the Commission for Social Development of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The Resolution, adopted by consensus, was introduced by Chile on behalf of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, and Paraguay. It represents a significant step forward as it is the first ECOSOC resolution focused solely on care and support. It also encourages member states to explore the benefits of implementing the transformative care agenda.
