Instituto Foz is a Brazilian nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing gender equality by strengthening women's leadership, political participation, and influence in public decision-making. We work at the intersection of gender, democracy, public policy, and social innovation, partnering with governments, civil society organizations, and communities to design and scale solutions that promote more inclusive and equitable societies.
Our work on care focuses on strengthening care systems, valuing care work, and promoting public policies that address inequalities in the distribution of care responsibilities. Through Caring Cities, we support local governments in developing and implementing care policies, with a particular focus on paid care workers and the strengthening of local care ecosystems. Through Community Laundries and Care, we research and test strategies to improve caregivers' well-being through community laundries, generating evidence and practical tools to inform public care policies and care infrastructure design.
