The Municipality of Río Grande is promoting a comprehensive care policy with a gender perspective, which seeks to recognize and redistribute caregiving responsibilities and strengthen shared responsibility within the community.
Among its initiatives are Care Spaces for children ages 1 to 3, which support families and create opportunities for women to pursue educational and professional activities. In 2026, the Municipality and the City Council also agreed to strengthen the Local Care Agenda by incorporating the 5R approach: recognizing, reducing, redistributing, remunerating, and representing care work.
