Civil society
The MMUE Collective (Mujeres Mexiquenses Unidas por Ecatepec) is a grassroots ecofeminist organization working in Ecatepec to strengthen community ties and transform public spaces through a lens of care, gender, the environment, and territory. Its work is rooted in defending the human right to care and in building community-based alternatives to sustain life.
The collective promotes community care initiatives, the recovery and reclamation of public spaces, the defense of territory, and youth participation, and seeks to ensure that local experiences and knowledge contribute to the development of public care policies. Among its initiatives are community spaces and activities designed to strengthen the bonds between people and their territory.
