The Forum brings together diverse stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific to learn, collaborate and take action on care to advance women’s economic empowerment and gender equality. It will take place from October 22 to October 24 in Bangkok, Tailand.
The event will highlight the mission of the Global Alliance for Care as well as explore new avenues of action going forward toward a future where care is recognized as a vital part of our lives that is at the very centre of all our well-being and prosperity.
The event will offer a space for open dialogue between authorities from EU member states and CELAC countries to disseminate the proposal and the contents that a Bi-Regional Pact for Care could contain. There will be live streaming.
The Global Alliance for Care has co-organized a series of events to be held during the 68th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68).
This side-event will explore existing challenges for a just care economy in the region and will explore emerging opportunities to promote a progressive care agenda based on the principles of human rights and sustainable development.
This event will discuss concrete steps to maximize the presence of the care agenda in multilateral platforms highlighting the voices, needs and perspectives from the Global South.
This side event is dedicated to a comprehensive exploration of the intricate connections between care work, intersectionality, and the climate crisis, particularly as they disproportionally affect indigenous, afro-descendent, migrant, and rural women.
This side event will provide an opportunity to bring together diverse perspectives to contribute to the understanding of the central role of care work in the elimination of poverty and how a more just redistribution of care responsibilities and robust policies.
